Curating Your Child's Education: A Presentation and Discussion with Mwalim

Tribal citizen Mwalim will be discussing the ways parents of students of color can elevate their child’s education in a live zoom on March 2 at 7:00 PM.

Some of the unfortunate aspects of American society are reflected within our school systems… Conscious and unconscious bias, social & communication barriers, and an over-extended faculty and staff can negatively impact the quality of education received by students in general and students of color in particular. The pro-active involvement of parents, especially parents of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) students remains a necessary and critical step.

Mwalim, a Tribal Member, artist, writer, and education, will provide a presentation and discussion for parents of BIPOC students to help ensure students receive the full benefits of K-12 educational experience; including ways to expand and enhance your child’s educational experience outside of the classroom.

The presentation will be made by Mwalim (Morgan James Peters, BA, MS, MFA). Mwalim is a 30+ year veteran and educator and parent’s advocate and will take place via zoom.
