The Tribal Education Departments is pleased to announce the hiring of Darius Coombs, Mashpee Wampanoag, as the Cultural & Outreach Coordinator for Education. He comes to the tribe with 35 years of educating people on Wampanoag and other Indigenous cultures.

Darius understands the many ways individuals learn and utilizes a variety of approaches in his work. While Mashpee gains the knowledge and expertise of this culture-keeper, Darius formally departs Plimouth Plantation, where he served as the Director of Indigenous Research and Interpretive Training. He held several positions along the way at the Museum.

We are extremely grateful that Darius has come home to work amongst our people. We look forward to many years of cultural and educational programming, community involvement, parent engagement, and professional development of the education systems and the public. Welcome home, Darius.
