Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Public Works
Under funding from the BIA-sponsored Tribal Transportation Program (TTP), the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Public Works Department is responsible for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of all BIA and Tribal owned roadways and parking lots. It is the goal of the Public Works Department to provide safe and adequate transportation for Tribal members who seek access to basic goods and services.
As it relates to Tribally owned buildings and properties, it is our objective to satisfy all employee maintenance requests and to service any and all repairs as needed to all MWT properties in a timely manner. We also strive to make all infrastructure repairs and improvements to MWT buildings as needed to ensure their longevity and safety.
All MWT properties will also be regularly maintained, to ensure they are aesthetically pleasing, free of debris, and safe to the public.
It is our objective to assist with the funerals and services of all Tribal Members as they occur, and to work with funeral homes and families to ensure efficiency.
In the winter months we will be responsible to keep all MWT properties and roadways clear of snow and de-iced for the safety of employees and our customers, and we will work with an outside contractor to ensure designated Tribal Elders will be serviced during snow storms.
Lastly, it is our objective to assist with all Transportation requests, including scheduling vehicles, coordinating drivers, reporting, and maintenance of vehicles.
